ARPRO provides a quantifiable and significant environmental benefit. The independent third party peer reviewed life cycle assessment (LCA) quantifies the benefit from the use of ARPRO as twelve times greater than the impact. The main driver is ARPRO allowing weight reduction and so reducing fuel consumption.

The ARPRO LCA evaluates the environmental impact of the production, use and disposal of a typical ARPRO seat-core.

CO2(e) savings result from the ability to deliver component weight reductions of up to 35%. If this saving is applied to the number of cars sold annually, an environmental saving of nearly 16 million tonnes of CO2(e) could be achieved.

Our environmental footprint is important to us for many different reasons. We take great care in keeping any effect we have on the environment to the absolute minimum. There are several factors that we consider to ensure we are doing everything we can:

  • Investment - environmental impact is a formal underpinning of all strategic and investment decisions, with priority given to investments that further minimise environmental impact.
  • Science not opinion - all claims will be supported by scientific and / or statistical data and wherever possible / practical will be provided by independent parties.
  • Recycling - further build and maintain a viable pan-European collection for recycling network and continue to make available ARPRO with recycled content. We are committed to actively promote ARPRO Recycled to all our customers.
  • Energy - all products will aim to minimise process energy required for manufacture and moulding. Continue to engage in research to reduce moulding energy requirements.
  • Waste - all waste throughout the company, including process waste, will be sorted and recycled.
  • Suppliers - we will discriminate in favour of suppliers who show commitment to environmental impact minimisation.
  • You - we will work with you and support your efforts to minimise environmental impact.
